What is dualityHow many times have you determined that you or another were wrong, or right for that matter?

Have you experienced this duality of wrong and right daily, hourly or every moment of your life?

Duality is the concept and experience of life where one chooses to judge people, places and things. In doing so, one takes sides with either the right side or the wrong side.

This is usually not something that is turned off and on like a light switch at will. Typically one lives from duality (ego) consciousness or they live from soul (unity) consciousness.

There is only one world, one people, one creation, one choice. But humanity, as a collective, has split the quality and value of people's choices into two categories. This split is “duality consciousness” when really there is simply “choice”.

All citizens of Earth choose each choice or make each decision the best they can given their life experiences and so each choice, truly, is a right choice and good enough for that person at that time.

Moving from duality to nonjudgmental, unity consciousness will save energy, time and create world peace.

Hi, I would like to hear more about this as I am struggling with it. I agree with you, we are all one, but on the other hand, does that mean we should stop opposing child and animal abuse for example, in a non violent way of course. I am a vegan myself, and I think I succeed in being non dual most of the time, but when it comes to needless murder and abuse I have to see That as wrong. How do you deal with that? I think those people are out of touch with their soul that they bring so much Harm to living creatures and the earth, and I would like to help them if I could in any way, but I still judge their actions wrong.

I would love to hear from you!

Kind regards,
Robin

"Most people on this earth accept other people's choices for them and avoid making choices as far as possible. Their unity consciousness is more properly known as the herd mentality."

It is still a choice to "go with the flow" or "herd mentality." It may just be the easiest choice for many, as you suggest, because it does not require them to process the consequences of their own thoughts, and it gives them someone to blame if it is the wrong choice.

I also read some similar view points in books written by Don Miguel Ruiz

I suppose living life as human beings and choosing to do so before we came here it is so hard to understand a rapist, murderer, basically any abuse at all.....however, there are no victims in reality. We all chose to either behave that way towards another or to be the person who was abused/ is being abused.
Experience on a soul level, karma, or a habitual way of being that we have not evolved out of...........are just some of the reasons why these things all happen. To let go of blame, judgement and see the big picture and to experience our openness to what and who we really are ( the energy of 'love') is a harder thing to do and it reqires practice and trust and a 'knowing'. All 'my' opinions and all what I believe but I know looking at life and the world and all of this 'madness' at times this way, has helped me so it just might help you also.

Our society has taught us to judge or evaluate virtually everything that we experience. It's so ingrained in most people that we feel incomplete when we haven't offer "our good opinion." Judging or evaluating anyone inhibits our ability to respond to the real self of that person. No one is the sum of his thoughts or actions. And one more comment! This thought or a feeling creates an energy block that causes us discomfort and we become stuck in an experience the way we see it.

Matthew,

I'm sorry for your loss. Very good point. I understand your feelings. Evil is a subjective emotional quality created by humanity. What designates something as evil in some cases can be the same for the majority; but in other cases it is different from person to person. The main point here is that everyone is doing the best they can in each moment of their life. Given the circumstances that led them up to that moment- circumstances which nobody can fully understand for another.

Ok. I like most of what you had to say here. But, what do you do with the "choice" someone made to murder my best friend. I cannot say this "choice" was anything but - evil and wrong. The person who made the "choice" to murder my best friend had "chosen" to murder someone before too. In general I like what you are saying. But, it is a little simplistic. Comment? Thanks for your input!

....it's way easier to judge and blame others for all our troubles...then we remain exempt from any responsibility. Sorta like saying "It was God's Will." It removes any blame on our part. Sadly this world thrives on duality...and so it shall be.

"All citizens of Earth choose each choice or make each decision the best they can given their life experiences and so each choice, truly, is a right choice and good enough for that person at that time."

Bullshit! Most people on this earth accept other people's choices for them and avoid making choices as far as possible. Their unity consciousness is more properly known as the herd mentality.

This is the best explanation.
